The last remaining Superstar
As always, Madonna was in top form. She really has created something special with this show. She takes you on a journey from the very beginning and you can't help but travel along with her. The visuals were breathtaking, the musicians she has on stage with her are beyond talented. I loved every single moment of the show.
My only complaint is that the Wiltern Theatre floor seating is not set-up for a concert setting. As soon as people stand you literally cannot see anything because the sections aren't graded, they are completely flat. Everyone around me was complaining because they couldn't see anything.
An uneven disappointment
I hate that I'm writing this, as I've seen every tour since Drowned World, (and this was my most expected event of 2019), but the Madame X tour is sloppy and badly structured. For all of the intent of creating a more intimate experience, I felt further removed from the show then I did on her previous arena or stadium tours. The pacing is completely off as the show lurches along in stops and starts, occasionally springing to life, but for the first time since I saw her live in 2001...I was actually bored during most segments. I wound up selling tickets I had purchased to follow up shows, something that would have been unthinkable as recently as three years ago.
Madonna Story
I first meet Madonna in person back in 1985 during a screening of her first movie Desperately Seeking Susan. At the time it was customary for the celebrity to show up at screening to gauge audience reaction so I decided to skip my night class and go see what was it all about. I bought my ticket and walked in and my piano teacher saw me and told her I was there to see Madonna and her new movie. She asked me do you want to meet her, I replied yes, but I am just a nobody and with that my teacher introduced me to Madonna.
She told me “ I hope you will like my movie, here for you , and she gave me a button with her image and it was from the movie. I still have that button and no one else got one but me. Everyone that night asked me how was it I got to chat with her .. I just played it off and said I have my connections. That was the beginning of me being a fan and have seen her in concert 6 times.Looking forward to seeing her again for the 7th time she in my opinion never disappoints her fans old and new..
